what’s the deal with padel?
We’ve piqued your interest and now you’re here to unravel the mystery of padel? (Seasoned pros, you can hit the ‘scroll’ button now), let’s get down to the details.
First things first: padel isn’t just any game—it’s the fastest growing sport in the world. Why? It’s thrilling, instantly engaging, sociable and a barrel of laughs.
Played with a racket in hand, it’s an exciting crossover between tennis and squash. But there’s a twist – the court is smaller (around one-third of the size of a tennis court), the strokes and strategies are unique, and the rules are slightly different too.
Plus, for the most part it’s a doubles game (although sometimes you can play solo).
Still on the fence? Well, we’ve created a guide to show you exactly how to play padel. Come, join the padel revolution.

FAQs
-
Padel? It’s like tennis and squash had a lovechild in Mexico back in the day. Doubles play rules the court, making it all about teamwork and quick reflexes.
Step onto the court and get ready for some serious fun.
-
Unleash your inner padel pro at Powerleague with a game that’s all about strategy and quick thinking.
Here’s the deal: You get points by doing a few things:
• If the ball bounces twice.
• If it smacks into any player.
• Or if it hits the wall or any fixture before crossing the net or lands in the other team’s half of the court. -
Doubles is the name of the game, Singles matches are possible on special courts, but the real magic happens when you’ve got a partner by your side.
-
Ever played tennis? The scoring runs along similar lines.
We play in sets of three, each with six games. To win a game, get two out of the three sets. Now, when it comes to points, it’s like this: 15, 30, 40, and then game. If both teams hit 40, it’s a tie called deuce. Sometimes we do a “golden point” where whoever wins the next point wins the game.
-
Here’s the deal: Since we’re using a special booking system just for our padel courts, your Powerleague account won’t cut it. You’ll need to create a Playtomic account to book the padel courts.

You can hop on someone else’s booking or set up your own open match, tailored to your liking, whether you’re feeling competitive or just in it for a friendly match. If we can’t round up four players, though, the system will call it off and refund your booking.
-
