Small-sided football has always been about bringing people together – and now there’s a new way to compete before or after your matches. Powerleague has partnered with Target Darts, the world’s leading darts manufacturer, to roll out Target Dartzone across 20 of our venues nationwide, creating one of the UK’s largest connected grassroots darts networks.
Each Dartzone uses Target’s patented auto-scoring system, OMNI, which calculates scores in real time as darts land on the board. Combined with Target Arcade and DartCounter, players can throw real darts at a real board while enjoying classic darts and a range of interactive games — the same connected experiences used by world number one Luke Littler, Beau Greaves and Nathan Aspinall. It means thousands of small-sided footballers who visit Powerleague every week will get the chance to play on the same set-up the sport’s biggest names train on.
The move is part of Powerleague’s ongoing diversification strategy, adding another sport to a growing lineup that already includes small-sided football and padel. For Target Darts, it supports a wider ambition to grow participation and make darts more social and accessible. James Tattersall, CEO of Target Darts, said the partnership allows the brand to bring “modern, connected darts experiences into communities across the UK at scale,” while John Gillespie, CEO of Powerleague, described it as a natural next step in giving members more ways to enjoy their time at the club – and potentially uncovering the next generation of darts talent along the way. Powerleague will also become an official venue partner for Target Darts’ youth development programmes, supporting pathways for young players coming through the sport.
